About the
Faith & Family Musical Theatre Fund
The quote by Dara Hogan above from her article The Power of Theater and Live Performance especially captures the motivation for my love of theatre. Live theatre has an especially powerful connection with its audience. Researchers have found that audiences’ hearts even synchronize when watching live theatre.
It seems apparent to me that the material in these pieces of art needs to be connected with strong values and belief systems so the audience see the truth and beauty of the life we are all called to live. I personally want to feel like I am a better person walking out of a show than when I walked in. I, as a musical theatre producer, feel a responsibility to seek out faith-filled, family-oriented shows for production to provide opportunities to challenge and grow faith, values, and commitment.
What do we invest in?
We invest in shows you want your family and friends to see! That may mean Broadway. But it might also include shows being produced around the country, maybe even in your local theatre. Our goals are to bring quality to shows to you. And yes, we do want to see faith and family friendly shows on Broadway! That is a big stage, and we want to see our values produced there as well!
